My modes stopped working on the motion and mode app. Mode manager shows the right modes at the right time but the integrations do not work. If I delete the app and reinstall will I lose all my automations?
I don’t think deleting and re-installing the app will impact your automations. However, to be safe, I would recommend you create a backup of your hub before doing this. Then if it does impact your automations, you can just restore the back-up and you’re back where you started.
I did a backup yesterday. I deleted the app and added it again I just had to set the times again. It didn't help with my problem.
Ok, so you’re having an issue with the motion and mode app? I don’t use that app, but others do, so if you can post one of the problematic rules, there might be some who can help. It might help if you enable logging and copy a screenshot of the logs in a post describing what was expected vs what happened...
Yes the motion and mode app. The motion integrations all work. None of the mode integrations work they were working fine until a few days ago. The mode manager app is the one I deleted and reinstalled.
Are you able to share a screenshot of one of the rules that no longer works, along with the logs taken when the rule should have activated but didn’t?
Are you able to confirm that the hub registered the mode change by going to logs -> Location Events and posting a screenshot showing the change in mode?
One thing that you may also want to try is doing a reboot with advanced option and database rebuild selected. If the rule use to run and doesn’t anymore, some minor db corruption can sometimes be the culprit…
Are you able to have screenshots that show the same time period for modes and the app? The one for the dimmer goes from 2pm to 7pm and the other from 5pm to 5am, with the only mode change during that time occurring at 11pm to Sleepy Time.
It does confirm that mode events are working though, which is good, but it would be nice to see the logs for the Modes app and what happened with this app at 11pm…
Ok, so the issue is with the modes not working.
I wonder if clicking « Done » from within the « Mode Manager » app would resolve this? It does seem like the « Morning » mode worked. Odd that « Night » didn’t…
It might help if you toggle the « Enable Logging » button on the Mode Manager App then to see what happens tonight.
Thanks for your help Sebastien. I do have Logs turned on in the Mode Manager app It only shows a few and the show more won't show more. I have to push done to exit the app. It seems like the problem is coming from the Motion and Mode app.
I'm trying a work around by using Basic Rules app and setting times and dimmer level. Hopefully it will work. I only did the master bedroom for now.
The experiment changed at the right times but it turned the lights on. I was digging around the app this morning and ran across this.
Not sure if it's a clue for what's wrong.
Well I finally wrote down all my automations from the Motion and Mode app and deleted the app and reinstalled the app. Happy to say everything is back to normal.
