It seems to work fine for most of the modes, including switching to "Away" when my Virtual presense sensor leaves the house. But when I return, Mode Manager doesn't switch back to Day/Evening/Night when I return. It just stays at "Away". Shouldn't Mode Manager set the mode to "Day" after I return from away between Sunrise and Sunset (like I have it configured)?
Same symptons here. Had a full cycle and i'm now one mode in the future instead of 2. Problems occur when 'LEAVE' is triggered by present sensor in my instance. Setting it manually only helps untill next away presence trigger.
I noticed again this morning that the mode was set to "Away" when I left my home, but when I returned it didn't switch back to "Day" as it should have. I'm using the same settings for Mode Manager as I've posted previously, and I don't see anything else changing the mode in the system events log.
The issue is that Mode Manager does not work correctly on my hub. As I described in my original post, when I leave my house Mode Manager sets the mode to "Away" correctly, but when I return it does not set the mode to "Day/Evening/Night" as it should. It stays at "Away", even when my presence is known to be "Present".
I took a peek at your rule and I think that it has to do that the time settings. You need to add it to specifically to the second field for you or any home user arrives because it's not sunrise when you arrive home, so the day settings won't kick in. Sunrise is your trigger. Not your arrival.
This is what I have currently. Are you suggesting I include my presence sensor in the Day/Evening/Night settings for arriving? My understanding is that if I did that, the mode would try to switch to one of those settings when I arrive regardless of the current time.
yes. Your presence isn't triggering because sunrise is your day trigger. So I think you would need to have a trigger for your arrival. If you worry about false positives, there are apps out there that rely on more than one presence trigger to determine if you're home or away. I had my modes set up long before mode manager was a thought, so mine run in rule machine and i can define the conditions to keep the modes in correct order with everything considered.
Edit: I initially had Use Time Settings for return from away and it wasn't working, turned it off and when it still wasn't working, I posted here, now I turned it back on and now it's working... go figure
