For a long time I had my Evening mode come on just at 8pm. I recently thought it would be better to have it come on the later of 8pm or sunset so I changed it to that. However, now when we come home between 5-6pm, the hub goes into evening mode instead of day mode. Sunset here currently is about 4:40pm so it should not be going into evening mode until 8pm. Is this a bug?

I just had this happen to me and it set the mode to night and turned off all our lights just as I got out of the car. I think it’s because you need time restrictions on the presence return config. Otherwise it runs all the presence returnsand maybe randomly grabs one.
It was working fine for months on end when it was just set to turn to evening at 8pm. Only became a problem when I set it to the later of two times. @bravenel, is this possibly a bug?
I will look into it. Maybe it is a problem with return from away logic mixed with later of two times.
Ok, thanks for looking into it! I can put it back to only going to evening mode at 8pm as the sun won't set till after 8pm here until mid April anyways.
There is definitely a design bug with this. Should be corrected for next release.
Cool! Glad it was actually a bug and not my incompetence! I triple checked my setting to try and make sure it wasn't on my end.
Is this working as expected now? I got bit by this in late 2020, and I've been running a RM rule to set my modes ever since. Using Mode Manager would be soooooooooo much easier.
