I'm using IFTTT to turn off my Blink camera's using IFTTT when my HSM mode is set to Day mode. I've done that successfully and now would like to utilize Hubitat's geofencing to turn the MODE to DAY when I approach my home thereby turning off the HSM alarm AND Blink camera's. Just want to make sure the way to do this is by using Mode manager and the "Presence" area. Also if anyone thinks this is a bad idea or has another idea to turn off blink camera's, I"m open to any suggestions. I do have a keypad to shut off HSM but IFTTT takes too long to turn off my Blink camera's once the Mode is changed to "DAY", I thought if geofencing could change the mode to "day" a few blocks away that it would give IFTTT more time before I got in the house to turn off the Blink cameras.
I use IFTTT to disable/enable my Arlo cameras based on the mode of my HSM as well since there is no direct connection to Arlo, my Blue Iris cameras are disabled/enabled via the BI Control app which runs locally. I use Geo fencing to control my modes and this works great most of the time. Occasionally one of my Arlo's won't change states when the others do but most of the time it works well. The only difference is I originally had issues getting mode manager to work (this was over a year ago) so I use Rule Manager to control the mode switching.
Great! I FINALLY found someone else in the forum trying to set up geofencing and that also gave me some tips. Appreciate your time. So I guess I can utilize geofenciing either by the Mode manager or Rules manager - thanks again - Still new to all this
