Migrating C7 to C8 Pro - Z-Wave Firmware Question

I'm just about to start my migration. Hub is updated to 2.5.1.152. The instructions are clear that I need to make sure my Z Wave firmware is updated. When I go to the Z Wave details page I see:

No indication of the current firmware version. When I go to http://192.168.68.115/hub/zwaveVersion then I see: VersionReport(zWaveLibraryType:7, zWaveProtocolVersion:7, zWaveProtocolSubVersion:14, firmware0Version:7, firmware0SubVersion:14, hardwareVersion:1, firmwareTargets:1, targetVersions:[[target:1, version:7, subVersion:15]])

So I think I have 7.14.1 or 7.15.1? From what I am reading here that is not the latest - I see references to 7.18, 7.22 (which is "bad"?), etc.. Lots of talk about Z-Wave problems and making sure the C7 has the same version as the C8. I am really not up for rebuilding everything from scratch so want to make sure I get this right before I start.

I would appreciate any specific advice on a) if I should update the firmware, b) to which rev, and c) how exactly to perform the update. Thanks very much.

There were some issues with the updates.. But it will offer an update to you on the new hub if the old hub was newer..

No update needed

If an update is needed the new hub would prompt you after you selected the backup to restore..

But if your not migrating from Hub to Hub, how do you know if your (single) hub has the latest Z-Wave firmware? Seems like there used to be an icon to update the Z-Wave firmware.

That button is still there but appears only if there is an update available for your hub: Z-Wave Details | Hubitat Documentation.

So, it being there is the only clue you'd need. :slight_smile: (But if you're on Z-Wave JS, it will also show the version in the UI for reference either way.)

One more pull on this thread - in my research saw lots of screenshots where there is a radio firmware revision and JS revision shown. I had assumed that was showing the current rev. I see nothing on my page. Why is that?

You are running legacy Z-Wave, not Z-Wave JS. This information is shown only for Z-Wave JS.
