I'm looking to go down the Meshtastic rabbit hole. It uses 915mhz. Hubitat Zwave uses 908.4mhz. I'm wondering if there'll be any interference from anyone with experience. Thanks!
I have a Meshtastic repeater outside my home. Never seen any interference. It was a fun project but has little use since there are so few repeaters in my area.
What does it mean when the hub says : US-LR - 908.4 Mhz, 916 Mhz ?
How is 916 in the mix?
I have no idea.
I'm not sure either. Search results suggest 908.4 is the one, so I'm not sure where the 916 comes from.
Per Googleโฆ
The USA uses 916 MHz in combination with 908.4 MHz for Z-Wave mesh networking. These frequencies are part of the U.S. sub-gigahertz ISM band required for FCC certification. The 916 MHz frequency is often used for higher bandwidth traffic or alongside the primary 908.4 MHz signal to reduce interference.
Key details about Z-Wave frequencies in the USA:
- Primary Frequencies: 908.4 MHz and 916 MHz.
- Z-Wave Long Range (LR): Operates at 912โ920 MHz.
The 916 MHz band is frequently used by newer 700 and 800 series Z-Wave devices for better performance, acting as a secondary channel to the legacy 908.4 MHz frequency.

that narrows it down
You're welcome!
Hey, I put some words in a search engine as well before posting.
Clear as mud. 912-920. okay.
z-wave LR uses spread spectrum frequency hopping. So it will spread around between 912 and 920.
