Ok, I was able to make some further assessment. The MSG100 garage door opens & closes, but the current states always shows opening / closing, never open/closed, or version, model or contact status.
Problem solved, I figured out my mistake. As advised by @ajardolino3 here, I had to update both the refresh and the sendCommand methods in the driver code for the version number issue.
Much better now....
