I added one of these bulbs. The seem to be working, but on the matter display the status column has a red circle with an x in it. I can't see and documentation on that or any way to find out what the error is.
Disable Matter, then enable it again.
Usually this fixes the red 
error.
Rebooting the HE hub fixes it as well.
This is all that matters. 
The red "X" means the hub thinks the device is offline, but I don't know the exact criteria that go into that calculation (perhaps something time-based and not real-time). It's not an error per se, though it might indicate a problem--or at least something that was recently.
There needs to be more status information on the matter connection. Enable disable fixes temporarily. These bulbs mostly stop working after some time. There is no way to troubleshoot when the bulb quits working. Power off/on restores operation.
