Matter device, Amazon Echo thread router

I have one Matter device (a door proximity sensor) using an Amazon Alexa Echo as the thread border router. After pairing with the Echo, I paired with HE. Everything worked fine, temporarily, and then it stopped working. The HE showed a red X next to the device in the Matter Details. So, I completely re-paired the sensor and it started working again. A week later, it stopped, and is once again showing the red X. I can see state changes on the Alexa app but HE doesn't see it.

I have tried disabling and re-enabling Matter on the HE, several times. The status shows a check mark for about a minute and then changes to the red X.

I'm sure I could re-pair again and get it to work, but it's simply infeasible to have to do this every couple of weeks. Is there anything I can do to diagnose this? Feels like I should be able to click on that red X and get exquisite diagnostic details, but that doesn't seem to be implemented. Should I just give up on Matter?

Thanks!

Similar experience on some matter light bulbs and a standard router. They disconnect and eventually will reconnect. I had to power some off then on - that reconnects them.

Thanks for confirming. According to the hub, the last communication was about 6 days ago. Eventually reconnecting is all well and good, but totally unacceptable for a home automation solution!

There are issues for vendors to fix. The good ones will, the bad ones will not.
