Matter bulbs will not reconnect after the light switch is used

If some one turns the light switch off or there is power outage the matter wifi bulbs won't reconnect until the disable and enable matter in the hub.
Is it a ip issue? Is this a know thing?

How are much time have you waited? Does an "initialize" command the device work rather than disabling and re-enabling Matter for the entire hub?

I think it should automatically reconnect on its own, but I don't know the exact algorithm. I'm general, it is best to avoid turning off smart bulbs physically if you can, even if this still shouldn't happen.

For any smart device that uses an IP address on your LAN, you should always reserve the IP address in your router settings so the same IP address will be assigned if power is lost. Without a reserved address, the router might or might not use the previous address.

I have a Phillips WIZ bulb and reserve the address to make sure it does not lose that address.

While Phillips Hue bulbs do not use an IP address on the router (but the Hub bridge does), it is still best never to turn off the power. I do reserve the IP address of the Hue bridge.

You can purchase inexpensive light switch guards to prevent someone from accidentally turning off a switch. Old habits can be hard to break.

That is not needed for Matter.. It is always discovered using mDNS and so it makes no difference if it is the same IP or not..

That's kind of what I thought but what I don't understand is why it doesn't reconnect I know you generally you don't use the light switch but it can always control that and with the power outage you can always control that either so I'm just wondering if that is the desired outcome or if there's something they can do about it or whatever. And I did see it happen once and I verified it had the same IP address before and after the light was turned on and off so that doesn't seem to make a difference

I haven't seen that behavior with my Matter bulbs, they are Orein brand A19. Believe me when I say I recently have had plenty of power outages to test this situation!

When this happens, can you control the bulbs through the app you commissioned the bulbs with? (Alexa, Google or other) or the native AiDot app? If the other apps don't work, I would presume they are dropping off Wifi for some reason?
