Matter Advanced Bridge and Philips Hue

I am having trouble getting my Philips Hue lights to respond to basic on/off commands. I created a new device using the matter pairing code. Then I gave the device a name, and added it to my "Utility Room." Then I loaded the device web page, and clicked on "Device Info" and changed the device type to "Matter Advanced Bridge." Then I pressed "Save and Close." I reloaded the device page, and pressed the "Initialize" button, and then I pressed the "Discover all" button. I have eight light bulbs and one bridge for a total of eight devices and nine endpoints. The "Current State" below appears to be correct"

The installation instructions say there should be a "Subscription" state variable, but it is not there. I am using a c8 Hub (non Pro) with 2.4.01 software version which appears to be the newest version available.

You should have 8 child devices created under the Hue Bridge device :

Do you see something similar ?

You may need to refresh the Hue Bridge web page, or just exit the device page and then enter again.

Please do not use screen shots. I am blind, and my TTS engine does not scan the alt text information. I posted in my original post the complete list of items in the "Current State." I even logged out of the hub, and back in, and the "Subscription" item in the "Current State" does not show up. It is as you see it in my original post.

I did notice one thing. Unlike the Eve Delgato devices, once you swith to Matter, the the bridge still maintains its original zibbee presence.

Thanks

OK, Patrick, I understand.

In my screenshot, I showed how the child devices are displayed under the 'Hue Matter Bridge' parent device - you need to click on the right bracket '>' symbol before the parent device name...

A missing 'subscriptions' State Variable indicates a problem during the discover process final step... You can try clicking on the 'Discover All' button again, then refresh the page.

The Hue Bridge web page should have an additional tab named 'Child Devices' - I have 'Commands Preferences Device Info In Use By Scheduled Jobs Child Devices Events Logs' tabs.

BTW, the HE inbuilt Generic Matter Bridge works very well with the Hue Bridges. If this custom drivers package does not work for some reason in your environment, you can change the driver to the HE inbuilt one and try it.

Well, that was easy. I removed the bridge completely, and re-paired the bridge to the hub. Then I opened the bridge device page , selected initialize. And all of my child devices are working as expected. This is using the "generic matter bridge" device type. I tried this a few years ago, and it was not working properly. Perhaps some of the kinks have been worked out of the original matter feature. Now the hue bridge is using matter to connect to homekit and alexa. No need to for any action to make more than one hop, and the awful Philips Hue skill on Alexa does not even come into the picture. If anyone is reading this to get an idea on ow to do this, please remember the Alexa app on the hub has a checkbox that will block hue devices on the hub from populating on the Alexa and creating annoying duplicate devices.
