Maker API

I just have to say another big THANK YOU! to the Hubitat guys

With the introduction of the Maker API, they have given me a large amount of freedom.
How?

Well... I run a small company that has an email ‘helpdesk’
I have to monitor this helpdesk from 9.00am until 5.00pm to respond to any tickets that come in.

So what this means is that I’m going to my PC every few minutes to check to see if an email came in.

With a little bit of scripting, now I don’t have to.

I use a script to check a mailbox and if anything is in there, I use the Maker api to turn on a momentary switch and use Message Central to tell me that a new email has arrived...
So, no more checking my PC... I just let Hubitat tell me when I have to work (which admittedly is not very often)

A simple but extremely effective way of using Maker API

Thanks again guys!

Using a ‘timed switch’, I have a message when the switch is turned on and a 30 seconds later a repeat message when it auto turns off.
(Just in case I didn’t hear the first message)

Brilliant!

I just finished two weeks of breathing nothing but Node-Red and Maker API. My head is spinning with new ideas.
