Lutron Smart Hub and device limit questions

Hi All,

Two questions, I'm sorry if these have already been asked and answered but I haven't been able to confirm or deny the following:

  1. Does the Hubitat C-8 still require the Lutron Smart Bridge Pro or will work with the new Lutron Smart Hub (formerly Smart Bridge)? I currently have a Smart Hub and a Smart Repeater. Has anything changed with the new "hub", or is the PRO version of the Smart Bridge still required? If so, will the repeater still work? Is it even necessary?

  2. I believe that there is a 75 device limit on both the Smart Hub and Smart Bridge Pro. Is there a way around this by using Hubitat? I am going to blow past that limit in a matter of days as I continue updating all switches in the house to Lutron Divas next week. If not, is it possible to integrate multiple Smart Bridges using one Hubitat hub?

Many thanks in advance.

The Lutron Integration allows you to add multiple bridges.

I'm showing one Integration with one 'child' ProHub defined. Clicking "Create New Caseta/RA2/QS Integration" adds another child.

I'm not aware of any changes on the Lutron side, and from what I can see, the model number is still the same. Hubitat requires the Pro model for its telnet interface.

Sort of. You can use two different Lutron bridges and integrate them both into Hubitat. (Of course, you could also into Lutron's higher-end systems that have higher device limits, but none work with Caséta devices besides Picos, and they come with a higher price too.)

Your repeater will work with the Smart Bridge Pro, just as it does with the Smart Hub. Difficult to determine if it is necessary without knowing the size and topology of your house.

Great, thanks to all for the replies. I have purchased a Hubitat C-8 and two Lutron Smart Bridge Pros. I see that I need to connect all Lutron devices to the smart bridges and then connect the smart bridges to Hubitat so I will be working on that over the next week or so.

Thanks again!
