True, that’s the default behavior in the Lutron app, but it’s possible to separate the pico and switch even when they remain in the same room by editing the pico device and tapping on the “devices” menu, where the prompt at the top then says “select devices for pico to control.” Just unselect the switch it was automatically joined to in the Lutron app.
