I recently added my Caseta stuff to HA too just for giggles, and was pleasantly surprised to see my 2 Caseta motion sensors come through... So I've brought those into HE via HADB and it works like a boss. Nice win!
I have several hue motion sensors that pair directly with Hubitat. A Pro2 Hub for the Picos. No particular interest in Lutron switches.
Using a Lutron dimmer to control a single LED bulb is expensive. For single bulbs, you are better off using a Hue, Zigbee, or WiFi bulb. For lampstands with multibulb capability, Lutron plug in dimmers are perfect.
Maybe... But I prefer having all of my in-wall switches and dimmers being actual Caseta switches and dimmers. We have two recessed ceiling lights that are each single bulb fixtures. I am not going to use a smart bulb in those locations. For now, I simply use my stockpile of incandescent bulbs for those two lights, as they are rarely used anyway. When I run out, I will add a Lutron MLC to each of the circuits along with LED bulbs.
For nightstands, table lamps, and floor lamps, I use Philips Hue bulbs connected to a Hue Bridge.
Totally agree. I have a smattering of lamps with LiFX and zigbee bulbs, but have controlled switches for anything hardwired.

Not really, or it depends on where you are located. In the US, we use the 70cm band (about 433 MHz). Europe uses 860 MHz. Soon, something new is coming.

4 weeks isn't that old. Besides, it was timely for me to revisit since I am only about 10 days into my Caséta journey. Happy to offer any fresh opinions from a relative novice, but here are highlights:
Starting - As others stated, get the Pro hub/bridge. Look for names like "Smart Bridge Pro" or "L-BDGPRO2". It was setup on the Lutron app in a couple of minutes.
Adding Devices - Our household is firmly committed to the Diva style of dimmer and switch, though we did have to add one original style fan control. Dimmer can be installed without Neutral, but we did find that two cheap can lights are not compatible and exhibit a ghost glow when Off. Devices have pigtail wires vs screw terminals, in case you have a strong preference. The Lutron app walks you through adding devices - press/hold button on the device and click a few details.
Adding to Hubitat - Instead of duplicating the Documentation page, I will just note that it is straightforward to integrate additional devices as you go. Just add another field to note the device number, type, and name.
As others noted, features are less whiz-bang than some manufacturers. It just looks like it belongs in a nice home and does normal dimmer/switch stuff. No extra LED colors or animations. Having moved twice in the past 5 years, I can confidently state that this will look higher-end than what I left behind. It is also a stand-alone system that can be detached from the HE environment. It is less intimidating - devices are at major retailers and the closed ecosystem precludes needing to know anything about protocols (Zigbee, Zwave, etc.).
Other stuff - I might consider the lamp dimmer or even outdoor outlet down the road. The motion sensors look nice but are not a fit for my very specific use cases. Not sure how I feel about remotes but I will test a couple. I have not yet installed any 3-way or other special cases.
Under no circumstances should you buy anything for about half-price on eBay (until I am done outfitting my house).
I would love to have the model of the dimmer and the model of the lights. I would like to reproduce this scenario in the lab.

I will check the light model later today, as it will need to be removed to inspect. My gut feeling is that it will be a decade old, based on evidence of upkeep in this house so far.
Purchase the Lutron LUT-MLC from your favorite retailer and it might solve that problem.
Were these light fixtures hooked up to a Dimmer Wall Switch previously? Or just a simple on/off wall switch? Many older fixtures are not dimmable at all. For those that could not have a dimmable bulb swapped in easily, I installed Caseta Switches instead of Caseta Dimmers.
Took me a minute to climb up to confirm the lights:

Marketed as fully dimmable and were previously dimmed via non-smart Lutron Diva. I did not capture the exact flavor of the removed devices but anticipate that it was the easiest to find big box option.
The cans will be replaced with new fixtures as we work through the project list. So this is academic for me and I won't be pursuing any countermeasures.
