Lost connection with all devices

Hi, as the title, i updated to the latest firmware and tried to get a switchbot driver to work which i did in the end but noticed that none of my device worked anymore, most of them are zigbee and a couple of z-wave.

i've rolled back to an earlier firmware and loaded a older backup but no joy.

what's the best way to get all the devices back ? i've not reset any of them yet, but i did try a zigbee reset.

Can i do a factory reset and load my backup to get it all working again?

Any help would be appreciated.

No, I think if there even is a factory reset that would zap your radio databases. Have you tried a clean shutdown, removing power (at the plug end to conserve that fragile USB connector), waiting a minute, and powering back up? Also check to make sure your radios are actually on.

Hi, i just tried a soft reset with no joy, how do i check the radios?

Not a soft reset - a clean shutdown, unplug power, wait a min or 3, start back up.

If you go into the zigbee details page or zwave details page you'll see the radio status. Don't reset the radios!

Just powered it down brad, is there a way to repair the devices without losing my setup with rules ect?

i've never had to do this before.

What happened when it came back up? Can you send a picture of the zwave details page?

Unplug for 40 mins, then plug back in. This should throw everything into panic mode. Does your z-wave radio say off?

i haven't powered it back up yet just giving it a bit more time yeah sure i'll post a screenshot

@rlithgow1 how long do you usually give the zwave radio to reset? I usually give it about a min but I have seen different opinions. (Different than panic mode I know.)

Yeah and definitely check both of the radios.

Technically it's 30 min for panic mode, but I always say 40 to be sure

i will try a 40 min power down in the morning if this doesn't work.

You definitely have a couple ghost devices on your zwave mesh... not sure if it's related to this or not. An upgrade would deifnitely NOT cause ghosts.

You have two ghosts in your z-wave table. This will cause problems.

i only have two z-wave devices in my home both are aeotec, one is a tri motion sensor and the other is a temp/ humidity sensor.

ZWave table shows 3, 0x06 appears to be a failed pairing of the motion sensor; 0x08 isn't showing any routes so it may be an incomplete pairing or a ghost...

6 and 8 don't have routes. They're essentially ghosts. I would exclude them, factory reset them and then re pair them.... Ghosts will slow your stuff down

May be able to get rid of 0x06 by removing the battery/power from the motion sensor (0x07) and hitting refresh on 0x06, should give you the option to remove and if you're in good standing with the zwave gods they may grant you a removal when pressed.

Did you make any changes to WiFi (channel, location of APs, etc). If the channels the hub and the AP's use are too close, you'll get interference that can bring zigbee devices to its knees  , from experience :facepunch:
