My 12yr old ubiquiti system is dead. Need to upgrade. Im lost trying to figure out what I need to replace. They only need to transmit a camera from each station. Mostly just motion pics. My old system at N300 2.4ghz did this just fine. Through put is very low.
Requirements:
-All low power, place runs on solar. <5w each would be good.
-2.4ghz only is fine and generally is lower power. Im open to 5ghz only. Having both draws more power unless one of the bands could be turned off.
-200m minimum distance. Need to be outdoor rated.
-Need at least 1 ethernet port each to run inside the barn or shed to connect device.
-1 Access point with omni antennas, the stations are about 90deg apart. 802.3af PoE would be best for this. A passive POE injector is OK too. This spot has AC power access.
-2 Stations, 12V passive POE or Separate 12V plug is best. Might be able to deal with 24V. There's only DC power at these locations. Can have directional antenna, I will aim at the AP.
-Don't need fancy SW or controls. Just want them to hook up and talk with out messing with it. Don't need to connect any other devices to them like phones or whatever.
Was looking at TP link because price is reasonable but not sure how to package it. Can a bridge kit (each one) talk to a access point? And there's the compatibility of these devices.
Open to any suggestions that fit the requirements.
