I am looking for help installing a Beok Tuya Thermostat with a Vaillant gas heater.
The current wall thermostat connects to terminals 3, 4 and 5 at the existing heater.
It's not clear to me from the diagrams in the Beok manual how to connect to those (and I have to work with an existing three-wire cable, and no extra 240V power source at the thermostat).
I think you'll need to consult an HVAC technician for help with that. The primary purpose of this section of Hubitat community is to obtain assistance with getting devices connected with Hubitat via zigbee/z-wave protocols.
Please note-you could possibly damage your furnace/heater or the thermostat if connected incorrectly.
If it's a 240 volt system, STEP BACK and do not even think of playing. If it's a gas millivolt system, it's typically 3 wires , 2 are contacts, that when connected together signal for the heat to activate, and the other wire is typically the "C" wire for constant power.
When I searched for Beok, I only saw Beok thermostats that require AC voltage. Are you certain this is a Zigbee device?
As suggested above, you may want to consult a licensed professional, particularly if this is a line voltage-powered thermostat.
But itβs possible someone could help if you provide some more details here. Such as photos of your current thermostat connections, or the diagrams for the specific model # of your new thermostat.
I know that 3 is always 230V, 5 is neutral, and 4 is switched (230V when on). But how to connect those to Beok is not clear to me.
Maybe:
Beok 1/L to 3/L
Beok 2/N to 5/N
Beok 5 to 4 (switched)
Beok 4 bridged to Beok 1
