Long range pond level monitor

I’m trying to do a second Hubitat install at a home I have put in the country. I finally got Starlink so now I can start doing some automation. My first project is a bit ambitious…

I want to control some automatic cables to pump well water to my pond when the level gets low. I have everything figured out except how to monitor the pond level. It’s about 500 feet from the house where the Hubitat is. I was thinking of installing several of these float sensors:

Just space the several inches apart and run sprinkler control wires out to them (low voltage, designed to be buried). It’ll be around 3-5 ohms of wire resistance.

Can someone recommend a multi-channel device that can sense 5 ohms vs open circuit reliably that compatible with Hubitat? I use Konnected at my main house for alarm stuff, so that could work, but it’s a bit pricey at $100 for 6 sensing channels.

I guess it’s worth bonus points if someone can recommend a way to do this without needing 500 feet of 10 strand direct bury wire (about $400). But I’m not sure anything wireless will work that far as I don’t have power down at the pond. I may add solar with a battery later just for lighting, but not sure when.

Thanks!

That sounds great value

You don't mention if your open to using either Zigbee OR Z-Wave devices but my only other thought was to use sensors like THESE, with "probes" that won't foul.
Maybe use your direct bury cable to send DC to the sensors which should get dropped nicely over the cable run. (rather than relying on the sensors batteries)

Fibaro Smart Implant may work for you.

I don’t think Zigbee or Zwave will work over 500 feet, right? I can’t really install repeaters because it’s all outdoors. Even active circuits down by the pond would need to be protected well.

I could really be missing something though. I’ve not done anything with Zigbee or Zwave devices before.
