Thanks. Once I am back up and running, I will be upgrading my subscription. I have 3 C-7 hubs and while I am not intending on replacing them, a full and solid backup, including the devices, saves me a lot of time in the event of an issue.
Woot! i'm back in business. used a 3 day old backup.
My eyes are crossing. I'm at the mercy of @gopher.ny and hope that something can be found in the engineering logs.
I attempted to upgrade from 2.5.3 to 2.3.7.145, with a soft reset and DB restore. That hangs at 15%.
I reverted back down to 2.5.3.152, soft reset and a restore from my backup back to Nov 3rd, 30th, Dec 18th, 19th, 20th, and lastly today's backup Jan 2. ALL hang at 65% UPNP when I'm on 2.5.3.
Side question, unrelated. I've had Remote Admin for a while now. I purchased the Hub Protect for one of my hubs tonight. How can I combine the Remote Admin and Hub Protect to get the discount? Do I need to cancel my Remote Admin and then purchase the bundle?
Time is a critical factor... if the Hub's time is grossly wrong, all bets are off.
The hub tries to get internet time, but not if that's been blocked.
There's a workaround, short term, in Settings: Hub Details:

Before trying a restore, get time to be accurate.
Exactly how gross would grossly off be? I gleaned from the other UPNP thread that timing was a thing and when I refresh my diag page, the time is the same as my system clock. I didn't compare it down to the second though. And when I watch my firewall logs, I see NTP requests to Google. I'm fairly confident that the time is right. However I never checked the time zone. Which IIRC is later in the start up cycle. I know I've seen time zone syncing or something while watching the progress bar scroll across.
EDIT: TZ is set correctly.
Using the Browser time sync cured one or more people with "boot up problems" in the past. The time shown in the screen cap was 2014 and I'm certain that would count as grossly wrong. Because it directly, incontrovertibly solved a problem, I parrot it back because we're scraping the bottom of the barrel here ![]()
Ah! That screenshot showing 2014 wasn't me.
