Linear/GoPro/Nortek PD-300z-2 Dimmer Switch

Brand new owner, got all my devices migrated from Vera except this one which is giving me fits. I'm able to exclude/Include it but it just adds it as a "Device" with no on/off/dim commands, just configure. This is a plug in dimmer module.

  • deviceType: 17488
  • inClusters: 0x26,0x2B,0x2C,0x27,0x73,0x70,0x86,0x72
  • deviceId: 12336
  • manufacturer: 335

Set the driver to generic zwave dimmer. Click configure after you change the driver. Or better yet, replace it with a zwave plus module. Those modules are a pain in the butt.

This was excellent advice which didn't work. You may be right about replacing it, but I did get all my similar-model switches to work.

Does your module have a switch on the back next to the prongs to change it from dimmer to switch mode? Mine got bumped in between the two and gave me a hard time before I noticed the little switch back there. That might have been a different one now that I think about it.

What does the device look like in the Zwave Details page under settings?

It does not have the switch on the back. In the details page, it gives all the expected commands for the dimmer. Just none of them have any effect.

Ha, scratch that, it's working now! I realized NOTHING was working from the web. Rebooted the hub and all is well

I'd take a look at your device page and see if there are any devices showing up in there besides 0x01 (001) which is the hub that are blank for clusters and devices. Those would be failed pairs. They can cause the hub to stop responding. Also check your zwave log under zwave details and the live log/past log for errors. The earlier you track down the issue the more options you have to deal with them.
