I could use some help with deck lights timing.
It seems my deck light switches don't work when the temperature is down in the low 30's. They sar plugged in to zwave outlets outside.
I have an outdoor Thermometer I'd like to use for the deck lights and my pool pump.
Deck light 1 turns off on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 pm
Deck light 2 turns off on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 pm
I'd like to keep them on ( and the pool pump ) if if the temperature is below 40⁰
But what exactly stops working at lower temperatures?
The (presumably smart) switching devices or the (presumably dumb) lights?
For example, I have some plug-in dumb patio string-lights that stop working (i.e. just shut themselves off) at about -5F, but their smart switch works perfectly fine at that temp. So no matter what I do with smarts, those lights just ain't gonna work when it's that cold out.
In your OP, you mention deck light switches, z-wave outlets, and then deck lights and pump.
How are those various pieces all tied together -- are the lights and the pump plugged into the z-wave outlets? If so, then how are the switches related here - are the switches smart or dumb?
