I used the LIFX integration to add two bulbs to my system. Although they appear in Scenes and Groups lists, they are not appearing in the drop drown lists for Swap Devices. I rebooted my hub, and still No Joy.
C8 - 2.4.0.151
LIFX devices are child devices of the LIFX integration app you used to add them, as are most such devices (with an integration app parent). Child devices are not supported by the Swap Device tool. This is an intentional design choice given that child devices often have specific dependencies on their parent device, and a full swap of this nature could break that. This limitation, plus some alternatives you may consider instead, are documented here:
Bummer. Thanks for the quick reply.
Keep in mind the alternatives mentioned in the docs. While a manual swap works (those of us who have been using the platform a long time are grateful for cases where it's not the only option ), a clone can also be helpful if you have one particular app, like a rule, where it would be helpful to not have to change a bunch of selections, as it offers an app-level option to replace one device selection with another.
Thanks. I have an outdoor lighting Scene for each month, plus some special occasion looks for Independence Day and such, so I'll just need to update those looks as they come around. I've been using the Matter/Thread Nanoleaf A19 bulbs, but experiencing A LOT of No Response problems, even with several Homepod Minis throughout the house. As much as I was trying to avoid WiFi products, the LIFX bulbs are pretty solid, and produce some of the best color saturation I've seen.
