LIFX and Matter question

Some of the new LIFX products have Matter capability. I recently added them, but I set them up via the LIFX app instead of through Google Home. I believe it was set up using Matter via the LIFX app(?) I was able to link it to Google Home.

I can add it to Hubitat using the LIFX integration, but I cannot add it as a Matter device. Is that because I commissioned it through the LIFX app instead of the Google Home app?

Is there any benefit of having it as a Matter device on Hubitat vs using the LIFX integration?

Typically, the integrations via the manufacturer specific protocol are better, as these provide more advanced options and features.

The only problem is that someone has to write all these manufacturer-specific integrations. In LIFX case these integrations are already available in HE.
