This is a nagging problem that I can't solve. Looking for ideas or solutions unknown to me.
Occasionally, but at least a couple of times when I'm gone for an extended period, one of our Life360 presence sensors inexplicably goes present. This causes havoc in the house. Given that I'm reduced to cloud access at those times, I don't know how to fix it remotely.
Is there a way to force Life360 (Android) to a departed state?
I have an HE dashboard that shows presence, but it doesn't seem to be able to change to departed (say, like I can change a switch to on/off). Is this possible?
I would use a virtual presence sensor in your automations (one that is switchable) and place that on a dashboard.
Then link your L360 to control your virtual
I'm sure you could come up with a rule that says if L360 device is present/not present turn the virtual on/off
Presence Central will also do it easily for you if you are using that.
You just need a virtual presence that is also a switch (My virtual presence driver will do that)
My Apps/Drivers will return soon when my new website is complete
You can also add a button template tile to your Life 360 refresh button device (if your using the integrated Life 360 app anyway) Then you can press that button on your cloud dashboard to force Life 360 to reevaluate your phones presence status which has always fixed that status for us the few times this has been an issue.
I think, like a lot of us, I've had a painful history with presence. @destructure00 had a very reliable Tasker profile that I used for a long time with near 100% accuracy, but Android's various and changing power economy strategies made that problematic. I've actually been pretty happy with Life360 since coming to Hubitat with this one, albeit rare, problem.
I'm with @Cobra ...use Life360 to manage a Virtual Presence Plus presence sensor. This gives you the ability to manually override presence whenever you want, while having Life360 control it normally.
