I have a number of Leviton switches (I believe they are Decora) that I am trying to move from Wink to my Hubitat. I am trying to reset them using the instructions for Leviton In- Wall switches (which is how Wink identifies them). I am unable to get them to reset.
According to the instructions provided on Hubitat's device compatibility page (and similar instructions found on online manuals) to reset a Leviton switch one presses the top part of the switch for 7 seconds (unless you are resetting a switch when you hold it for 14 seconds) and its light is supposed t turn amber. I have attempted this on the switches several times and all that happens is that the green light ges out. It doesn't change olor at all, and the light isn't being reset.
These are not my Leviton switches, and the person who owns them does not know what model they are. I suspect that they are a different model, one which is either not documented or which is not reset using the method provided in current documentation.
Can someone provide advice on alternate ways to reset these switches? I believe they are Z- Wave switches, but apparently there are different variations that are reset differently. I need to have some way of either identifying the model so I can find appropriate documentation, or some suggesion on alternate ways to reset different Leviton switches.
If you get desperate, generally the model number is stamped or printed on the back of the switch. Regardless the 14 second top press seems to be standard for a factory reset. Just for the sake of argument, have you tried putting one into pairing mode (hold top for 7 seconds, release and tap top once -> green flashing light) and trying a zwave discover from HE?
The light should flash amber/red beginning around 14 seconds. One important thing to remember is that you have to release the paddle once it starts flashing. If you continue to hold the paddle, it will stop flashing after 25 seconds or so. [edit: and you have to start again]
You know you've done it right if the load goes off immediately.
After it starts flashing amber, you have to wait until it turns red, then release. Sometimes, these Levitons need to be reset more than once to actually reset. Also, be sure to do a Z-Wave exclusion against them. I usually do that before resetting them.
I think these are either different from "regular" Leviton switches, or something may be wrong with them. what happens is that when I press the top of the switch for 14 seconds, nothing happens. There is no amber light or red light. If the light is off (the little green light is on) and I press the top, the green light goes off and stays off. After 14 seconds, the light remains off. Tjis continues until I eventually release the switch, in which case the green ligt goes back on.
I also learned something else: the switches in question are master- slave swithes. In other words, there is apparently a "master" switch and the others are connected to that master. There is one master for the kitchen, which is connected to one slave. Another master is for the hallway and is connected to two slaves. It is not currently possible (not without taking the switches out of the walls) to determie which switches are the masters (or what the model number is). I have, however, attempted to reset all the switches figuring that I would find the master switches by top pressing them. They all behave the same way: light goes out, no amber or red light, green light comes back on only when I release.
I am currently looking for more information about these master slave Leviton switches. Does anyone have any ideas I can try?
It would appear that you are attempting to perform the reset on a remote (DD0SR), which will not work. All include/exclude/reset operations need to be done on the actual device. It's the one physically connected to the load.
