Leviton outlet

I've been set up a few months now and have rules set up at basic levels to mimic what I had previously with Wink. I'm happy overrall. Well, almost, borderline thrilled. Response itme has been quick and I haven't had a HUGE problem with the bulbs disconnecting. A few here and there but some of the instances were related to power surges/outages I'm sure.

Anyway, something weird that has occured lately and maybe someone on here has knowledge and/or can help me figure this out. I started playing with Action Tiles and was excited to see a somewhat clean dashboard. Then I realized I already have it with Hubitat and it seems to maybe give some more info than Action Tiles so I'm a bit focused on using the Hubitat dashboard. I noticed that some of my devices weren't quite updating properly. A door sensor still showing open when it's closed or a switch showing off when it's on. I also noticed that many of my devices weren't working properly with Alexa. I deleted all of my devices from Alexa and re-discovered them and most work properly now.

I have one stupborn Leviton duplex outlet however. It does not link with Alexa nor does it show properly its state in the dashboard. When I physically turn it on/off on the switch itself, it doesn't reflect in the dashboard. I have excluded it and re-included it as well as a hard reset holding the programming button until it flashes red and then re-including it. Is there something I'm missing?Under devices in Hubitat, if I'm in this outlet's properties and I turn it off/on, it does not reflect. However, when I refresh it, it updates the state both there in the devices as well as on the dashboard to show its correct state

I see the poll option and that is a refresh of sorts I guess and I also saw that there is a polling app. Is that something I can explore to manually show the correct state. It's not a HUGE inconvenience but it is nice to show the proper state when I'm out of the house instead of just clicking back and forth on and off until it's off to ensure that it really is OFF

First and foremost.. I hope you did that intentionally because I just love it.. stupid/stubborn in one swell foop.

Vintage of device is a factor. Many Non-Plus ZWave devices don't report status because of a patent they didn't license or didn't read, or were just too fearful.

The option for those antiques are to use the Poller App at a low rate. The other option is, of course, to replace it with a modern ZWave Plus device. I have a few antiques myself and I've found that I could move them to places where I only used automation. The hub will send a command and get an acknowledgment back and thus know if the command worked or not. The issue is if that device is physically touched often... you will loose sync without a poll. I really got a smile on my face when, after putting two of the antique switches in a certain three gang wall box, my wife hung a mirror over them, hiding them from sight. She did it because no one touches them!

Many folks find it convenient to get their zigbee bulbs off HE, onto a separate hub, on a separate zigbee channel. Mixing zigbee bulbs and other zigbee devices can cause bulbs to act as repeaters, and most of them don't do that very well for anything other than bulbs.

There are actually several of the exact same outlets throughout my house. I have five total all bought at the same time ~5 years ago and the other four work fine but just this one is being STUBORN! I actually didn't notice I mispelled it until you pointed it out I was in the middle of doing 8 million things at work and wanted to broadcast out a call for help. The alexa doesn't bother me as much as it will my 8YO that uses it all the time to turn the office light on. I go in in the dark and push the button. I'll have to look and read up on how to do the polling. I thought I had it set up but it doesn't seem to poll properly.

@ brad, the issues that others have reported is why I said that.... knock on wood but I haven't had any massive problems

NM I just played with the polling app and it seems to work now. I just wasn't patient to wait the FIVE SECONDS for it to refresh. Damned instant gratification world we live in!

I have kids... no instant gratification for me. I tell 'm to clean up and I have to wait 18 years for it to happen.

To check if the device is Z-Wave Plus, go settings and then to Z-Wave Details and look at the clusters column. If your devices are Z-Wave Plus the first item in cluster will be 0x5E.

The stories I could tell..... I married into kids. A teenager that was a teenager when I met her at 9 and now at 16 thinks she owns the world and the world owes her EVERYTHING. Cleaning? Evening mentioning that world starts World War 3

Here's what I have

But the other outlets that are the same work just fine?
