Hello,
I am looking for a Multicolor Lights solution that will change colors based on sounds (music, tv, etc).. What are the options on the markets, preferably that are HE friendly.
Thanks

Maybe Philips Hue??? I have never used Hue, so don't assume anything. Hopefully others will chime in.
Hue Bridge. Can work with IKEA Trådfri or Hue Bulb (Hue are most responsive).
Use the Hue Integration app to control them in a normal scenario (not music syncing) on HE, and use either Philips or third-party software directly with the bridge for music syncing and many other cool effects and features.
Awesome.. If i get a Philips hue bridge, is it possible to add other vendor Z wave color bulbs or its restricted to Philips bulbs only?
No. Hue bridge is Zigbee. Specifically it is Zigbee LL (Light Link) protocol. That limits you to Hue bulbs and vendor's Zigbee bulbs that support the Light Link protocol. Some examples are IKEA Trådfri and Cree
Take a look at Hue Dynamics too, you can use on mobile and PC. Although again, its for the Hue bridge.
Hue Labs now has a built-in integration for this. You can also use the third-party software ScreenBloom on Windows and Mac to sync the Hue lights to your TV. Again, this functionality is also now supported by Hue Labs.
Yeah its very cool, but what I wanted was on Mobile, so I could use the mic and have the lights dancing to the music, Dynamics does this really well, and if running on a PC you can call these automations via HTTP request
Sure. Just offering up what I know about for the Mac users out there
Thank you for fast feedback... Philips Smart bridge option looks interesting..
I am looking at bridge and a bit confused about version/models that are selling..
Amazon and most retailers claim that this is latest and greatest :
However , ebay has this.. that is labeled as Gen 3..
Philips 3rd Generation Hue Bridge 2.1 Hub - 3241312018A
Anyone has any insights what is really the latest and greatest? My bet is on Amazon!
There are three generations of bulb, but only two generations of bridge. Primarily the difference is color capability. As far as the bridge is concerned, the first gen bridge was round and didn't support HomeKit. The second gen square bridge does support HomeKit, along with many other automations not supported by the first gen bridge.
Don't bother with the 2nd Gen bulbs. I just ordered what I thought was a great deal on a 2nd gen hub and 3 bulb New Open Box starter set. The bulbs sucked so bad that it got repacked back in the box and returned the same day. Completely awful colors. The blues are purple. The yellows are green. The only color it does relatively well is red. Just got the Sengled Color element plus and it's much better than the 2nd gen Hue.
The nanoleaf is supported by Hubitat and has a rhythm module for sensing and reacting to music. A bit expensive though.
