I have been playing around with the LED notifications on one of my Inovelli Red 2-1 Dimmer/switches. But now I want the LED bar to display the way it did before I started working with the LED lights, but I cannot seem to get it back to the original state. Each individual LED is lighting up instead of the more uniform bar. I have not yet tried a factory reset, but I would like to use notifications, and then be able to change it back to the "normal" bar display. I have attached a picture to illustrate the differences. On the left is a switch showing the normal LED bar. On the right shows each discrete LED. I tried sending the LED EffectAll 255-Stop command, but that does not reset it back to normal. Any help would be appreciated. I think the LED bar is much more pleasing to look at than the discrete LEDs.
Are you sure you didn't just remove the physical diffuser?
Or change the stock diffuser to some kind of clear custom version?
I have not physically modified the switch in any way. I suppose I could see if I have the same issue on a different switch (maybe the diffusor is missing on this one?), but I don't recall seeing the discrete LEDs on the switch before playing with the notifications (but not 1000% sure it wasn't an issue before - brain is not as young as it once was ).
It def looks like the diffuser's missing. There's no way to get that look otherwise. You can see the circuit board's exposed.
I am 99.999% certain you're missing the diffuser on that switch.
If you ever removed that faceplate, it may have popped out then (I've had that happen). Otherwise, it must've shipped from Inovelli like that.
Can you share a photo without the LEDs illuminated so the appearance of the hardware itself is clearer? My first impression is the same as the above, but that would make things more visible to get a better idea. There isn't a Z-Wave parameter that would cause this kind of distinction, for sure.
Well, what are the odds of that? The diffuser is missing on that switch. And just happened to be the switch I picked to experiment on with notifications. So I thought I did something wrong via software/firmware. I did pick this switch because it was not in a highly viewable space - so it wouldn't bother the misses while I played with it. Thanks all for the quick responses!
Once you have the "diffuser missing" issue remedied, also be aware that the setting individual LEDs for color/intensity is separate from effects, so using LED EffectAll will not necessarily reset all LED's to "normal". Here's my rule for resetting all LEDs of my "test" Inovelli Blue dimmer:
