The built-in Kasa Integration has been updated This is a major update.
Documentation including changes (full details): Kasa-Hubitat/KasaIntegrationHelp.pdf at main · DaveGut/Kasa-Hubitat · GitHub . Summary is below.
New app function: Set Up Application and Credentials Page. Optional interface to enter credentials and configure the application. Credentials ARE required for Tapo Devices and new protocol Kasa devices to work.
New device command: added custom command Set Lights with Transition. This allows rule machine to be able to provide instance-specific transition times for color changes. (user request).
New devices:
- Tapo plugs, switches, bulbs, and strips (except those attached to the Tapo or Kasa Hubs).
- Kasa "repackaged" devices that use the Tapo API and Protocol. Examples (newer HW versions): EP25, EP40, HS200, HS220, KP125M, KS205, KS225, KS240 (dual fan-light switch).
Issues Resolved:
- Transitioning to the new Kasa device protocol is now supported (both automatically and through reversible user interaction).
- Hubitat Color Animation now works.
Open Issue:
- On legacy hardware version 1 HS300 devices, UDP truncation requires users to limit the names of the six outlets.
- LAN performance for some older Kasa devices still has issues due (I think) to the power-saving implementation on the LAN interface.
- Transition (only) may not carry over LED settings from legacy installation.
