Kwikset 910 Zwave Lock Pairing

I'm at a loss at this point, perhaps someone else can chime in. If you're clicking lock and unlock directly on the device page and it's not working and you can clearly see that it's receiving instruction and there is no error in the logs, then either A, HE isn't supporting the instruction set properly for that lock, or B there is an issue with the lock. I may be missing something though...

I'm leaning towards something is wrong with the lock and just going to leave it as it is for now.... they are too expensive to replace just wish I had a status on it.

If it isn't working from the device page, and is that close to the hub, then generally it's not using the right driver (or you have the right driver and haven't hit Configure on the device screen). Generic Zwave should be the right driver for this lock.

How old is the lock?

@thebearmay I've hit configure on it numerous times and occassions.

The lock is probably 4-5 years old, it was running on the vivint system before.

I wonder if you just swap out the z-wave module if it would work

That's the problem. Vivint enables the zwave antitheft feature (I think Vivint is the only manufacturer that does!) which makes devices not work on any other hub unless they are UNLOCKED with a Vivint panel.

You need to pair it to a Vivint panel to unlock it before it will work on any other hub (not just Hubitat). There are instructions elsewhere on the forum on how to do that, if you have access tom a Vivint panel. Many of us have done it with Vivint devices like thermostats, etc.

Or, you could just buy new zwave modules for the locks like @rlithgow1 mentioned.

I have the vivint panel here still just unplugged. In order to use all my other contacts and garage door opener and the like.... Do i need to manually remove each device from the vivint panel first?

You have to unlock any zwave device that supports the zwave antitheft command class (which I think is everything Vivint uses) from the vivint panel before you can use it on another manufacturer hub. Yes.

@jasonjoel thanks!! Bearer of bad news but I'm going to go power up the stupid vivint panel now. I got vivint back when they used 2Gig and it was good....

Edit: Assuming they let me into the toolbox to remove it since I left them.

You might want to try some of the other sensors on Hubitat 1st. If they don't have antitheft command class support you should be able to use them right away. I know Vivint locks and thermostats used antitheft, but I'm not as sure about the other sensors.

If they pair and have 0x5D on the inClusters or secureInClusters, then they support antitheft and will likely need to be paired/unpaired from a vivint panel.

And I looked back at my notes - I can confirm that all you need to do is pair it, then unpair it from the vivint panel to reset the anti-theft setting.

I think you still can. On the panel I got off eBay (and never registered with Vivint at all) I just did this:

1. Boot panel
2. Tap "..." in bottom right
3. Tap "DEVICES"
4. Enter 2203 as code
5. Tap "SUPPORT"
6. Tap "Software Version"

@JasonJoel their newer panels with later software versions do not let you into the device toolbox to remove or add devices without first getting a cellular signal to unlock it.

I just called them and they refused to do it wouldn't even transfer me to support.

Everything is working but I have not tried to pair my linear garage door opener yet. The contact sensors I know are a different frequency and I'm working on getting an MQTT bridge setup.

I guess Ill just buy a new z-wave card instead of dealing with them. I was only with them 12 years but when they switched to their own proprietary stuff and came installed their Sky Control panel as a "warranty" they deleted all my smoke detectors from the system that were not theirs and did not tell me they did. Their response after I noticed I was unprotected 4 months later was they'd send me one new detector for free....

Honestly didn't know that. Will now file this away for future.... Pretty crappy they wouldn't even help him...

So I'm getting a status now with the new zwave module.

Secure pairing is complete, paired immediately.

Status updates instant but it will not let me control it.

What driver are you using?

Generic Z Wave Lock

Did you click configure?

I did. I unpaired and repaired as well but it all looks good. I can't see a command in the log though which is strange.

I do see physical updates though.

It it showing a route in your z-wave details page?

It is a direct route, I tried forcing a repair and it still showed direct route. Hub to node 40 (lock), that node is about a 20 feet jump through a wall.
