I thought the same thing which is why I originally had him re-pair it. He did a factory reset and paired again with in a foot of the hub. I know zwave actually says it I don't know if Zigbee does.
Totally missed that it was Zigbee. Zigbee doesn't do that. I believe it is considered fairly secure in its default communication configuration.
And you are positive it is a zigbee module, and not a control4 module?
I'm sure it is, but I have to ask as some of the used zigbee modules being sold are actually control4 modules which don't work with Hubitat.
But if I remember right, those won't even pair. But it has been a while since i tried that.
I have 3 kwikset zigbee locks. All of mine show up as model SMARTCODE_DEADBOLT_10T - so not the exact same as your zigbee modules I guess.
A second question would be - do you have any zigbee lightbulbs? Some of those do bad things to the mesh. If you do, you could try powering then off/unscrewing them and see if the lock acts any differently.
I'm pretty sure this driver is what, or is close to, Hubitat uses which supports the 5
fingerprint profileId: "0104", inClusters: "0000,0001,0003,0004,0005,0009,0020,0101,0402,0B05,FDBD", outClusters: "000A,0019", manufacturer: "Kwikset", model: "SMARTCODE_DEADBOLT_5", deviceJoinName: "Kwikset 5-Button Deadbolt"
If that is the case then the lock is being detected correctly.
So it turns out that I have Control 4 modules.
Where can I find the regular Zigbee modules for the 910 and 912 locks?
