Issue with certain Philips Hue Bulb Dimming and Alexa

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked somewhere else, but its a bit of a generic search term and I'm not coming up for anything useful.

Background: I've got lots of Philips Hue bulbs joined to the hue hub, which are then controlled in Hubitat. All dimming etc works perfectly in the Hubitat app and even have several RuleMachine rules controlling the levels of the bulbs etc.

The Issue: I have a bulb (might be more than one, I havent tested them all yet) which when you ask Alexa to dim it to XX% she responds with "That device doesnt support that". This bulb is no different to any of the rest (which work), bulbs which work are both "hueBridgeBulb" in the Hubitat Devices page, both have the dimmer level in the Hubitat device information - but Alexa still unable to control the level of this one bulb.

To make it even more confusing, the Alexa app on my phone can control the level of the bulb and it knows its a dimming bulb

Any ideas?

Bit more about the setup: I do not have the Hue skill on Alexa, I have the "Exclude Hubitat Integrated Hue Devices" switched OFF, so everything is going via Hubitat. Rule machine can set the level, Hubitat app itself can set the level, the Hue Dimmer (Connected to hue itself) can control the level - its purely the Alexa Hubitat skill which must be reporting it only as an on/off switch

Would you beleive it, after hours of messing about I solved it 10 minutes after posting.

The Fix: Found that I had the bulb called "Bathroom Light" and the Echo itself called "Bathroom" for some reason she was ignoring the "Light" bit of the command and trying to control herself.

Changed the name of the Alexa to "Bathroom Echo Dot" and now she accepts the normal commands. Annoying and never been a problem before, but ah well - at least its fixed
