Is anyone using the Aqara G3 cameras either with or outside of hubitat, HomeKit or Hime Assutant? What are your thoughts ? Does it require its own separate hub?
The G3 is a hub - for Aqara devices. I have one, which I didn't use for long but planning to bring it back into service if it ever gets updated to act as a matter bridge, because then I'll start using the Aqara sensors again. I don't want them paired to my Hubitat again, too troublesome.
Aqara G3 should already have Matter Bridge updates.
Which Aqara sensors you currently have?
I read something dated last month that said "in the coming months" but I'll turn it on and see if it gets an update anyway.
I have some vibration sensors which were offline as often as on, on my spare c7. But they worked reliably on the G3 in the short time I had it set up.

Let me know if the G3 has already received the update. The G3 hub version should be 4.0.x
I have tested the Aqara vibration sensor using the E1 bridge and an experimental HE driver, and it works OK (it is exposed as a motion sensor).
Note that Aqara FP1 and Aqara FP2 'presence' sensors are NOT exposed via Matter yet.
Yes, we're in business! 4.0.7_0006.0008 Bridged accessories 1 (one vibration sensor I just added). Using the Matter setting I obtained a pairing number which I keyed into Google Home and now have the sensor showing up as an "Occupancy" device in google home. Not sure what function it will have in that system but at least it's demonstrated the bridging works. What I assume is the G3 camera itself is shown as "Matter device" and does not have any camera stream or controls

If you want the vibration sensor to be available in Hubitat via Matter Bridge local connection, let me know. : )

I have the aqara dual relay and several door/window sensors that I would like to come over to hubitat if at all possible. They did show up in smartthings when I used matter to pair them. Any idea on how to bring those child devices into Hubitat?

What is your Aqara hub model?
Community Matter Bridge drivers are still in development, but if you want to participate in the early alpha-testing, please send me a PM. Or wait for the open beta release, hopefully in a couple of weeks from now.
Thanks. That's kind of what I was figuring I needed. Still pretty new to Hubitat. I'll wait until either the open beta or the final version. I'm not in any real rush. I appreciate the information.
