Iris v2 motion sensor/Zigbee network issues in new home

I have a ton of these. I used maybe 10 in my last home and never had an issue. I sold that house and built a new one. Decided to start over and buy the C8 Pro as well. Everything worked fine for a few days but the motion sensors constantly lose connection. I'll go through the process to add them all back. Day or two later they start dropping off. Some will stay and never have a problem but each time this happens it's different ones. Example: my pantry motion has been solid since day. Went back in and readded some that fell off and now it has fallen off. Does this hub just not play well with these sensors?

I have tried rebooting the radio, rebuilding the mesh, etc. Every switch in my house is a zooz and I have 4 kwikset deadbolts - 0 issues with those. I bought a zigbee repeater and it didn't help. I have tried using never before paired sensors and have the same issue. I have like 30 of these and don't want to change them for something else. I haven't added everything else back yet.

Any ideas?

Are you using Zigbee or Z-Wave for the aforementioned devices? Pretty sure Zooz switches are going to be Z-Wave...

In your old house, were using the same switches and deadbolts? Or different makes/models?

If the above answer isZ-wave, and you have 30 Iris v2 Motion sensors and only 1 mains-powered repeater device for your entire Zigbee mesh network, then I think you should consider adding about 5 more mains-powered Zigbee repeater devices, like smart outlets throughout your house.

I have a C8-Pro paired to about 60 Zigbee devices. The vast majority of these devices are the old Lowes Iris v2 Motion, Leak, and Contact sensors. I also have a bunch of Iris v2 Zigbee outlets throughout the house acting as Zigbee repeaters. This has been a very reliable combination for my house for 8+ years now. I have never had one of the Iris Zigbee devices fall off the network. I do have a few non-Iris Zigbee devices on the network, mostly just a few long-range contact sensors that are also probably older ZHA 1.2 devices. I have very few Zigbee 3.0 devices on my network, except for the Hubitat C8-Pro hub, of course.

Something else to consider... What 2.4GHz WiFi channel(s) is your home networking equipment using? Please make sure your Router/Access Points only use 2.4GHz channels 1, 6, and/or 11 with a 20MHz channel width. This will ensure Zigbee channels 15, 20, and 25 are able to operate without interference.

Very good catch - something def worth checking in a new home.

These are freaking amazing Zigbee repeaters. They are the only repeaters on the Zigbee Graph app with stellar connection quality.

There have been cautions about enabling the Z-Wave part of their repeating capability, IIRC. I only use mine for Zigbee repeating.

Lots of good advice above. I'm just adding a data point: I'm using several of the Iris V2 motion sensors with a C8P and don't have any issues with them.

Wifi 2ghz is on channel 1 at 20mhz.

I bought new switches and locks for the house. I used to have GE/jasco switches. I stuck with kwikset brand but bought new to match the color scheme . All of that is zwave. Right now the only zibgee stuff I have paired are the iris sensors.

I'll order some more repeaters. Not seeing that Iris repater available if you have another recomendation. That being said, the pantry sensor I mentioned is only a few feet from the hub. Also went from 3600sqft with a basement to 2200sqft one floor. Only saying that because I didn't have any issues in the last home.

Free to any home…Z-wave Plus

Saw this. He has some Samsung zigbee plugs for the price of shipping.
