Iris v2 Keypad w/ 2.0.7, 2.0.8, 2.0.9 or 2.1.0 - No Tones after Arming

Hi there, I decided to try 2.0.7.126 again after having issues with my keypads, etc., and rolling back, now that I have a little more time to troubleshoot.

I have my keypads working again to arm/disarm with code. However, I am running into a weird issue with the volume on the keypads themselves.

If I hit "partial" to armHome, the keypad flashes and goes to partial. However, I didn't hear the normal arming tones. However, I DO hear the quick beep sequence on the other keypad. Now, if I start hitting in the code, there is still no volume. Arm again, still no volume, etc. - at this point the Keypad is muted (but I can still hear the tones on the other keypad).

If I hold the '2' down to put the volume up, I can now hear tones again (hitting the code, etc.), UNTIL I hit "partial" again, in which case tones once again stop working.

I will try the same sequence on the other keypad, and once again, it's the same behavior, where the volume is muted until I manually change the volume, while hearing the tones on the other keypad (that wasn't making tones before) as long as I manually fixed the volume first - otherwise both are mute.

Not sure how far back to go with the logs but here's a quick testing session:

I have not tried to force remove and add them back in as it's a pain in the ass to have to set up all my rules again (and I don't recall it helping things last time).

Alright, I just went to arm for the night and both keypads' lights were strobing/alternating (off, partial, on, partial, off, etc.).

It did arm when I hit partial, but continued with the light show. All lights turned off after a second but if you activate it with motion it's still going.

Gonna try going back to the Centralite driver tomorrow and if it's still being weird I might fall back again.

Same issue with the Centralite driver - so possibly this is an issue with HSM? Or something with both drivers? Between this and the dashboard issues (placing tiles not always shown, can't save tile when using images, Chrome keeps crashing), gonna fall back again.

I can confirm I see the same issue on my V2 iris keypad. I noticed this after upgrading(2.0.7.126) but thought nothing of it. I am using the new Iris v2 keypad driver, and the partial button seems to silence the beeps, and I too can hear my other keypad(v2) beeping in basement.

I can confirm with 2.0.8.107 that there is no improvement with this behavior. I upgraded, changed the device to Iris Keypad v2 and hit configure/refresh. I hit partial, and the keypad muted, but can hear tones on the other keypad. After that, no tones on the keypad until I hold down the 2 key - rinse repeat. Falling back to 2.0.6 again...

I would suggest to log a ticket with support. There are so many forums and posts, this confirmed issue might not get attention it requires.

Hey Vasilios, did you ever get a resolution to the beep tone not working?

I think @arnb found a way but not sure

I haven't done additional troubleshooting. I'm waiting for 2.0.9 before trying again. I'm still on 2.0.6 (this is a blocker for me).

My experience using the HE Iris V2 keypad driver was identical to @rxich's and @vasilios Holding the 2 key reinstated sound, but it went silent after the next pin entry.

tagging @mike.maxwell to insure he knows about this issue.

I'm glad I found this. It lets me know I do not have a unique situation. I think I will avoid using the keypad and use my phone or my Iris V2 Smart Fob to arm/disarm until this is fixed. Hopefully, it will be fixed with the 2.0.9 update. Since I have all my Iris V1 devices on one Hubitat C-5, could I roll my Hubitat C-4 back or would it cause problems having the two Hubitat's running different versions?

this isn't any issue what-so-ever...

Thanks. However, it appears to be a moot point for me as when I look for prior versions to install, the only ones available in the Hubitat Updater's Platform Versions list are the 2.08 versions, 109 or 112. I guess I'll wait until the 2.0.9 update instead.

+1 here for the keypad sound problem... hoping the next update might fix it...

I think it might be older version keypads doing the silent treatment. I had 2 v2 keypads running, the one in my livingroom does the silent thing but the one upstairs is always doing the beeps when a door or window is open. I installed a third v2 keypad that I got off of ebay and that also does the silent thing. I have one more v2 keypad, new in the box that I'm gonna install this weekend to see if works normally.

It kinda stinks but you need to fall back to the previous version that works before upgrading to the latest major or minor version. Otherwise, if you update to the next minor version, the only thing you can fall back to is the previous minor version. I've gone back to 2.0.6 every time prior to updating to the latest major or minor version, so I can fall back to 2.0.6.

I'm hoping you'll be able to select any previous major or minor version at some point in the future, or allow us to "download" a version and update via that method (which should be an option for complete off the internet installations). I'm also hoping to be able to set up a shared drive for backups, or ftp, or some other method. Right now, it's a manual process to download.

Thanks. I did not know how that worked. Now I know. Yes, it would be nice to be able to download a specific version but upgrades on my phones are a one-way street so even being able to downgrade one or two minor versions is better than that.

There is no update to this behavior with 2.0.9. At least the door chime (beep) is now working like it was with Iris. Falling back to 2.0.6.

I am finding out that if I hold the #2 key down to increase the volume I get the tones. If I then use the smart fob or computer or phone to arm/disarm, the tones more reliably sound. If I use the keypad to arm/disarm, the sounds seem to be set back to off and I have to use the #2 key again to raise the sound level.

this issue has been reported, and I've taken note of it.
