iPhone presence sensor help

Thank you

I agree. My son didn’t want another app on his phone so I set his presence up via an iPod mini. I find reliability for both to be 100%.

Two pros for Locative:

  1. Is not limited to your wifi bubble so I can have it trigger earlier (greater distance) when coming home.

  2. Can handle multiple locations.

Thanks. I’m also going to check into HomeKit.

There have been reports of problems with this on IOS26.

Reported fix is:

  1. Settings->Privacy & Security->Location Services->System Services->Home Accessories TURN OFF
  2. Reboot phone via buttons (Volume Up, Volume Down, press&hold Power)
  3. Turn on Home Accessories (above)

Worked for me.

The other option is to change your automations from for example, when I arrive home, to when I arrive at my home address.

When I arrive home
Change to
When I arrive at 123 Jones St

FWIW, this seems to be fixed in iOS 26.1 (currently in beta).

I had already tried the first option and didn’t work for me. When I enter the address rather then select home it defaults to home. May try the neighbor address and see if that works.

Soon I hope

In the same boat- I can not get either my phone, or daughters, to trigger on presence whether we are arriving or leaving. Sometimes it works when we arrive but its rare.
I have noticed that you can not select " always" and I'm sure this has been that way for a few updates..
It only allows "while using app" or " widgets"
