Anyone running the beta on HomePod mini with the HomeKit integration want to comment on how it working?

Mine are working fine.

3 HPMs and 3ATVs all on 17 with no issues. The home hub is always one of the ATVs, which makes sense, especially since they are hard wired.

You are lucky. My home hub always migrates to one of the Home Pod Mini's. I have several ATV's and HPM's.

Same here. 9 homepod minis/homepods and an atv. Though all work fine.

I’m assuming (could be wrong) that one of my ATVs always shows up as the Home hub because they are hard wired to Ethernet. It wasn’t that way when I had them wireless. It would make since if there is some sort of latency checking involved in assigning the device as the Home hub.
