Intermittent Issue with Groups in Groups

I have been running around a year with no issues but all the sudden I seem to be having issues with light automations using groups. When I issue commands for turning all lights on or off I have bulbs that dont respond. Here is a general summary of the config:

5 Groups (one for each room)
5-7 bulbs / outlets in each group
1 group called Downstairs, that contains all 5 other groups
I am not using and group messaging or optimization
All bulbs have a good signal strength

Here is the issue I am seeing:

  • If I trigger an individual bulb - no issues
  • If I trigger an individual room group - no issue
  • If I trigger the "downstairs' group - frequently have multiple bulbs that dont go on or off. Sometimes I can trigger the Downstairs group 1-3 more times and the bulbs will respond. I can also trigger the room or individual bulbs to get a response.

Since the bulbs always seem to work individually or in their individual room group this seems to possibly be an issue when using groups within groups or the Hubitat cant handle addressing so many devices at once.

Anyone seen an issue like this or have any advice?

I'm running into a similar issue and it seems to be limited to my groups within groups. I don't recall this being a limitation that I had to worry about and it worked fine before.

After sleeping on this, I came to the conclusion that I don't need groups within groups, just devices is several groups. So I ensured that no group has a group within it and instead just remunerates the devices that are also in a sub-group. Little bit more work as you have to add a devices to multiple groups as opposed to the most discrete group but better than trying to understand why things are not going on/off.
