This looks promising and similar to the Lutron Maestro switches I used years ago:
Yeah, I'm looking forward to those, I have 3 of the Wink King of Fans modules (2 installed) but they have never been reliable 1 is still working now the other isn't and the last one I never installed because the first two where never reliable. These should work much better as the Z-Wave 700 module is in the switch rather than the fan canopy and the switch talks to the canopy via RF.
Not quite, unless you just mean in appearance. I never used the Maestro Light/Fan switch, but my understanding is that it needed a separate load wire for the fan and light. The Inovelli needs only one, which connects to the required canopy module, which then connects itself to the fan and light loads.
Speaking of appearance, it looks like the light and fan engraving they said the wanted are absent on the actual buttons. I'm guessing that will be added later. Still doesn't look bad! I wonder if both LED bars are controllable separately for notifications and whatnot, and it's also not clear to me whether the scene events are generated by the large buttons (that would be my guess?) or the small buttons on the side (in which case there could be dozens total, haha).
No sir, the Maestro is specifically for situations where you have a single wire going to the fan where the canopy module allows you to switch both fan and light. So this is the same as Inovelli and similar to the Hampton Bay Zigbee controller.
Maestro cannot be integrated with HE or the Caseta Pro bridge. So this will fit situations where you want a switch and control via HE which I have a few use cases for.
Interesting, I was thinking of this one, which I never got both because it required two load wires and because I knew there was no hope for integration via Caseta or anything similar: Lutron Maestro fan control and C•L dimmer Overview
Hum that is the one I have (still have three of them in my junk cabinet) and they only require a single load. The switch communicates via that single load wire to tell the fan or light to change states. I specifically bought these because I wanted a fan with a light and only had a 14-2 Romex. Odd this would have changed, but this was over 10 years ago when I bought them.
Switch is available for preorder:

@ritchierich You are talking about the MA-LFQ3, which was a wall unit paired with a canopy unit. You could have multiple wall units to control one fan and you only needed two wires. But you had to have the canopy unit.
@bertabcd1234 You are talking about the MACL-LFQ, which was a dimmer/fan control combo that needed no canopy unit. This requires 3 wires going to the fan. The CRAZIEST part....
Other than the number of indicator lights on the left of the fan button (the LFQ3 had 7 speeds) they are identical. So, as it turns out...you were both right.
(And yes, this took me over half an hour to finally get all the numbers/pictures but i knew you were both talking about the same thing but not since I'd seen both of them while searching around for fan controllers way back when. It was time well spent in my opinion. )
That's a great pre-order price. Only $9 more CAD than the Caséta fan controller, and it does so much more. I have two of the Maestro controllers on the left above, one still in use. Such a great controller, and in my opinion what the Caséta should have been. This Inovelli sounds so much better though, and will be, if it's as reliable as the Maestro.
I'm a little disappointed that the switch is required and is the primary control point. That means that there's another point of failure. I would have thought they would have done what Hampton Bay did...put the Z-wave radio in the canopy unit and then connect that to the wall switch with RF. That would have also made the wall switch optional. Now, it's required.
Maybe they thought it would be easier to do hardware reset if the Z-wave chip was in the wall control. Sounds like a really nice switch too, and I don't mind the look at all. Love that it will still have scene control and programable lights on both switches.
