I just got one of these and plan to replace a dimmer by my front door with it.

Would like to use the LED to indicate alarm status as it will be pretty visible for anyone walking in. I've seen some comments in the Smartthings forum about this, but nothing here.

I already have my alarm system integrated with HE via an Envisalink board. It seems like it should be pretty straightforward to have HSM send a status to the switch, but it's not very clear where to start, as everything I've read points to programmable button pushes.

Has anyone done something like this?

The LED Mini-Dashboard app discussed in this thread works great -- I use it for indicating unlocked doors, open windows, bath fan timing status, status of fans & heaters and lots of other stuff. Very customizable and very reliable!

I think this mini dashboard app will take care of everything.
