Innovelli Blue Switches Not Responding (and all Zigbee devices)

I have looked on other posts and cannot seem to find an answer. I have probably 40 innovelli blue switches. They have been installed about a year. About every 3 months they stop responding. Usually I just go import the new driver by using the instructions on this page https://help.inovelli.com/en/articles/8187106-blue-series-2-1-switch-setup-instructions-hubitat#h_947c0fc897. The hub works for other devices. Any suggestions?

Are they all on latest firmware (2.18)?

I only have 9 Blues, but I haven't had any connection issues with them for a long time (recent firmware builds have been much better and more stable than the early ones).

A driver change is unlikely to help with a device that suddenly went unresponsive, barring any major bugs in the driver, so it's unclear why that would help in the short term.

Some information that may help narrow down the actual problem, beyond the above:

  1. What hub model are you on?
  2. What platform version are you running? (Check Settings > Hub Details for both of the above.)
  3. What does the rest of your Zigbee network look like, e.g., brands and models of devices? In particular, any smart bulb?
  4. Any other odd behavior on the hub, e.g., do just these switches stop working, or is it also other devices? Any errors or other concerns under Logs, likely Past Logs at this point or also app and device stats?

What Zigby channel are you on? When I first installed my Inovelli Blues, the very first switch/dimmer paired nicely, but it was only about 6 feet away from the hub. I installed three more units, on my way to 40+, and could not get them to pair at all. After much fussing around, I changed my Zigbee channel from 20 to 25, and magically, everything was fine. It’s possible that I was getting interference from a neighbor (since none of my Wi-Fi system had changed). Having said that, I’ve only been running the Blues for about two months now, so maybe something drastic will happen at month three.

Hi!

  1. Hub: C8
  2. Platform: 2.4.0.145
  3. No smart bulbs, I have only the inovelli switches, two temp sensors (that don't want to work either from 3rd Reality, used to work), One door sensor.
  4. Seems that some things do work (like a relay I have) but others don't want to work like the switches, etc..

The last time I had an issue I did the channel update from 20 to 25. It is currently at 25 (0x19)

Do you have any Aqara devices, such as remote control buttons, or contact sensors?
If so, try taking their batteries out and pairing your switches.

No Aquara devices. I do have temp sensors, tried to remove the batteries and pairing. Seemed to work for on night. Hubitat is so much more of a pain in a year than my SmarThings was in 8 years.

I updated my router at the same time of the issue, but that doesn't really make sense either due to the fact that the HUB can't see any Zigbee devices. Anyone have any thought to get it to see any of these devices?

@user5989 I dont think you answered this

See this thread: Inovelli Blue Zigbee switches going offline constantly, especially the last post

I think the fix in the case of the issue on that thread was to air gap the switches for a few seconds and then they will come back online.

Thanks! However the issue is with all of my Zigbee devices and not just the Inovelli's apparently. I can't get anything to work. I've tried changing the channel a few times, the power setting, etc... I can't get anything to work. I will try the air gap, but I'd also like to see my other few devices for other reasons (temp sensor, contact sensor, relay, etc...)

In that case, pick a Zigbee channel you think is most likely to work good, I usually go for 25 since it is on the far edge of the Wifi spectrum. Set power to 8 which is the default (too much power can make it worse).

Then pick a repeating device that should be within range of the hub. Power cycle it, and then do a reset on it so it goes into pairing mode. Pair it back to the hub. See if you can get just one device working this way.

Also, if your Inovelli switches were the main repeaters in your Zigbee mesh, having just those go down may have caused all your other devices to go down with them.
