[INFO] New Ultraloq ZWave V2 Lock

I was using original Ultraloq ZWave Pro lock for years. This one worked but never was reliable (about 60%). When I switched to the ZWaveJS on the C8 Pro hub this lock was very first device to fail. I mean the reliability dropped below 10% which made all my lock related automations near useless. Finally, I decide to replace it with the new Ultraloq ZWave LR V2. So far so good. This new lock is in place for 2+ weeks, and reliability is next to 100%. It paired with the C8 Pro hub in LR/S2 mode. The response to the lock/unlock commands is near instant. The status reporting is also very fast and reliable. In addition to the locked/unlocked states the lock reports which code was used or was it incorrect code entry. The lock has a door sensor, but my door is 100% metal/magnetic. So, there is no way to use this built-in sensor in my case. Surprisingly this lock supports ONLY a ZWave communication (there is no BT/WiFi). As a result, this lock is invisible to the Ultraloq app. In my case this is OK because I did not use the app in the past and did not plan to use it with this new lock. The only downside - updating a firmware is still possible but will not be a straightforward as with the app.

Bottom line:

So far, I am very happy with this update. All my lock related automations now working just fine and far more reliable than with previous setup.

I have 2 of the old version z wave locks. … does this version not have the fingerprint reader? … I haven’t had to many issues with them other than my 2nd one I purchased was doa and wouldn’t pair for the life of it. They sent me another one in exchange for that one. Still do wish they implemented the door sensor into the zwave side of things to use, from my understanding it wasnt doable!? Oh and I had a wifi bridge that failed shortly after it was out of warranty never tried to get another one not sure what happened with it or why even got it to begin with. I think notifications via their app.

Ultraloq Zwave V2 does not have a fingerprint scanner. Communication is a ZWave ONLY! External opening options are: ZWave Commands, Keypad and mechanical key(s). Internal opening options are: ZWave Commands and mechanical knob. I cannot test a built-in door status sensor because my door is a magnetic metal. App does not support this lock because it does not have a BT (strange, but it is what it is).
However, in my case I got everything what I wanted. The best thing is - the reaction to the open/close commands and status reporting is near instant and very reliable (so far). This is all what I need for my lock/door automations.
