I bought few IKEA Metter-over-Thread plugs mainly to use them as a Thread Repeaters. My only TBR is Home Assistant with XBT-2 Radio. No matter what I tried I could not connect these plugs to the HA Thread Network. (BTW, Alexa Echo 4 did not have any problem to connect them but I am not using Alexa at all, it is collecting dust.). But I figured out the IKEA Grillplats could be reset into Zigbee mode:
To reset an IKEA Grillplats smart plug into Zigbee mode, factory reset it by holding the on/off button for 10 seconds, then rapidly press the button 8 times to enable the Zigbee pairing mode. This allows it to work with non-Matter hubs like Zigbee2MQTT (Z2M) or Home Assistant.
So, I tried one and it works very well with the HE in a Zigbee mode. This was not my intention but at least these plugs not a bricks and could be used.
