I got ahead of myself and restored a backup without DL the update. 2.2.6(?) first.

all my devices and apps are listed but don't respond. I tried a couple of devices (on/off) and it does not work. Still works with the old hub, though.

Maybe you can factory reset my new hub it http://192.168.86.77 So I can start over or is there a better way?

Are you saying you restored a backup from another hub on a new hub? You have Hub Protect?

Just do a soft reset...

Don't do a restore. When it boots to the green screen, go right back to the Diagnostic Menu and click the Download Latest Version. (If you get a 404 error, it's because the login expired on the Hub but the browser still thinks it's good. Just logout and back in.)

Once that reboots, you should be on the new version with nothing restored.. so go ahead and do the Restore from the Green boot screen.

For future reference, that’s your hub’s local IP address on your Local Area Network (LAN). It doesn’t mean anything outside of your home network.

It would be like saying to an appliance technician “the dishwasher is on the fritz, meet me in our kitchen.” Except the tech doesn’t know your home address. Or even what country you live in.

If you’re interested, here’s a helpful article that explains a bit about how IP networks work, and the difference between a public and private IP address:
