I am facing Issues with Device Communication After Latest Firmware Update

Hi guys! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I recently updated my Hubitat Elevation hub to firmware version 2.3.5, and since then, I have been facing some issues with my Zigbee devices. Specifically, several of my Zigbee lights and sensors keep dropping off the network, and I have to re-pair them frequently.

Here is what I have tried:

Resetting and re-pairing the devices.
Checking the Zigbee mesh network to ensure there are no signal interference issues.
Restarting the Hubitat hub and performing a full reboot.
Verifying that the devices are within range of the hub and that their batteries are fully charged.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists, and it’s becoming quite frustrating. I haven’t made any other changes to my setup recently, so I’m wondering if the new firmware update might be causing compatibility issues or if there’s something specific I need to adjust in the settings.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The current platform version is 2.3.9. Are you sure it is 2.3.5, or was that just a typo? Or was it from 2.3.5 to 2.3.9?

Also:

  • What "model" of hub are you using? e.g. C-7, C-8, C-8 Pro etc.
  • What types of Zigbee devices are you using? i.e. can you provide any examples of the manufacturer and models involved? Particularly any repeaters involved.
  • When you say you have checked for interference, how exactly have you assessed this? Have you checked the channel being used against other 2.4GHz networks nearby? If you are using later HE hub models, have you adjusted / set the power setting at all?

Others are likely to have more targeted questions than me. You may want to look at the post explaining so of the common questions that are requested in support situations like this. If you can't find it just let us know, but I would have thought it would have prompted you for some of the details as part of posting here.

No need to wonder, revert to the prior platform version you had installed using the diagnostic tool. Then you will know if the issue is from the update or just a coincidence.
