I was looking through the pre-loaded driver, is there not one for a Hue LED strip ?
I dont have an offical one, but I have a cheap RGB one with a zigbee controller on it and im using the huebridge RGB driver - but you dont get any of the fun stuff like effects etc in HE.
If it's directly connected to Hubitat (not usually recommended, as you may know), you want the "Generic Zigbee RGBW Light" driver. If it's connected via a Hue Bridge, the "hueBridgeBulbRGBW" driver is what you want. Either works for lights in general (bulbs or strips), despite the more specific name of the latter.
The Light Strip Plus has the same capabilities as the White and Color bulbs. Hue supports more than Hubitat provides access to via their integration (e.g., the "breathe"/identify action and the colorloop effect), but that's just a limit of what Hubitat chose to implement and not which driver you're using.
The thing is I cant access breathe/colourloop/fade in Hue for these, and with basic options in HE I was hoping there was something else out there / a Hue RGBW led strip driver for HE to get some of those functions.
Fair call if it doesnt exist / they dont support those features.
Yes, that is what I meant. The Hue API certainly provides these features, and some third-party apps that use it also do (to be fair, Hue's native app doesn't even do this); this is just:
