Hi all, completely new user here.
I have a Philips Hue Motion Sensor (9290030675) and Hue plug, which I've paired directly with HE.
Both paired easily and the plug is working without issue. The motion sensor is not.
The devices Current State has not changed from the original readings since it was initially paired.
It appears as Active constantly, and no new events have been recorded beyond the first 15 seconds of pairing.
I have tried:
Multiple re-pairings
Multiple factory resets/re-pairings
Hue Motion Sensor and Generic Zigbee Motion Sensor
Changed Zigbee channel
Not sure what else...
Am I likely looking at a dud device, or am I missing something in HE?
I've looked at similar threads, but haven't had much luck resolving.
Image shows the dashboard tile (whilst sensor is in darkness), and event log several hours after pairing.
May be a battery issue, the sensor is defective or you are using a wrong driver.
First check if the driver is correct. It should be “Hue Motion Sensor”.
I would change the batteries, and then would re-pair the device near the hub.
If still unresponsive and if you HAVE NOT created any rules yet, I would “Remove Device” from the device page, re-pair it by “Add Device” manually while being near the hub.
If all this does not work you may have a defective sensor.
Thanks. I’d been removing the device prior to each re-pair, like a damned fool.
Just had to go through pairing again without removing the device and voila.
Battery, driver, and proximity were all good. It was me being a doofus and removing the device every time I tried pairing it again. Just re-pairing without removing was all I needed to do in the end.
The nice thing about re-pairing without removing is if you have the device already embedded in all sorts of rules you don't have to do anything else. I don't think it's your error though. Sometimes during the pairing process all the capabilities of the device don't properly get communicated.
