Anyone else noticing issues with the last couple of firmware updates?
I have two C8 hubs, and both are doing the same thing....
After a day or two...
Zwave devices stop communicating
Rules machine rules randomly stop processing
when rebooting the hubs, they reboot into the blue light special instead of coming back up clean necessitating a power cycle
I have two C8 hubs and both are doing the same thing, so this isn't just a single hub issue.
On my the mine the Rules understanding of time has change to something strange. Example, it turns on at 9:45 AM not five minutes before Sunset. Nothing I can do to correct this.
Something seems off with mine, after the last update. Last night, I noticed a couple of my zigbee plug-in outlets had gone unresponsive. I pulled up the hubitat landing page, and it told me there was an update available. So, assuming some of the issues were related to version 2.4.2.143 that I was on, I went ahead and started the upgrade to 2.4.2.157. Once that finished, and the hub rebooted, I finally got the two zigbee devices in question to sluggishly respond. This morning, when I woke up, seemingly all my zigbee devices and at least one virtual switch had gone unresponsive. Unfortunately, I failed to check any of the other devices (like the z-wave ones or other virtual switches), but I went ahead and pulled the power cable from the hub to do a hard power cycle. The first reboot attempt left it with the blinking red/green light situation that I've never experienced, even though the hub is plugged into a network switch with a 2ft ethernet cable, and every other network device (wired/wifi) was working fine. I pulled the power cable again, to force another hard power cycle. This time, things seem like they've come back normally (hub is online, devices responding). For good measure, I went ahead and triggered the Rebuild Network action from the zigbee settings. @gopher.ny, I'll PM my hub uuid now.
Hoping that you shutdown the hub and waited for the red light before pulling the power cable out (both times). If not, you run the risk of corrupting your database.
If you start having issues again, go into the hub ui, and try rebooting with the advanced options checked and do a rebuild database.
At a loss here. The only automations working are the motion sensors turning on lights. All the Basic Rules I have use Before Sunset feature will not work as setup. For some odd reason it turns on the lights at 9:47am. Deleted all of them and started over, no love here either. So, after replacing my C7 (it died a stinky death) with a C8 Pro.
After the 2.4.2.157 update, I had three Zigbee motion sensors, a Zigbee contact sensor, and a Zigbee outlet drop. These are all different brands. I don't recall this happening before after an update. I tried rebooting and rebuilding the database. That didn't help. I ended up having to repair each device.
I also kept getting "severe load" messages. That sometimes happens once after an update. But this time it happened after almost every reboot. It's been OK today.
Also, and I'm not sure if this means anything, the Zigbee graph is showing only a portion of my Zigbee devices. I have 21 devices, and it shows a changing number between 7 and 13. I'm used to seeing all of them.
None of my Zwave devices dropped (yet), and everything appears to be working OK now. But this was definitely not the smooth update that I usually experience.
Should I rebuild the Zigbee network?
ETA: Spoke too soon. One of my Z-Wave Ring Extenders also dropped off and had to be repaired.
