Hubitat with Fibaro switch and Livolo

Hi all!
I'm building my house now and thinking about hubitat to be the hub of the smart home.
I want to connect all the switches to the hub and I was thinking to buy the Livolo switches to all the switches and to connect it with the Fibaro switch to the hubitat hub.
Do you think this flow will work good? In terms of speed and to not have delay in the clicks...

Hi @gabayarden,

Here is a link to the list of devices that are compatible with Hubitat:

https://docs.hubitat.com/index.php?title=List_of_Compatible_Devices

I took a quick look but didn’t find Livolo in there. However, Fibaro switches are. I can’t say that I understand what you are trying to do…

With Hubitat, a lot of users will typically go with Z-Wave, Zigbee or Insteon switches/dimmers.

Inovelli and Zooz are two very popular brands in the Z-Wave area as they allow for a lot of customization.

If you can tell us more about what you are trying to achieve, I’m sure me and others in the community will be able to help!

Welcome!

Hi Yarden,
If I read your name correct then you are from Israel and this Zooz and Inovelli will not be right for you as they work with US z-wave frequency and are suitable for the US 110 volt system.
Fibaro will be a good choice.
If you need further “Israel based knowledge” send me a private message and I’ll try to help.

Hi Guys,

I just purchased my Hubitat today. Just like gabayarden, I also have a Fibaro unit (Home Center Lite). Had it for 10 years now. I’m trying to integrate it with Hubitat as the Fibaro system is internet dependent. When my internet is down, I can’t control my lights or automation from my Fibaro unit. I know I bought the Hubitat unit already blindly without asking this question first but I’m would like to know if the Hubitat can see the Fibaro light switches individually so I can name and assign them so I can control them individually without the use of the internet. Please advise
Kind regards,

You should be able to connect the Fibaro devices directly to Hubitat. You wil need to exclude the devices first from the current hub they are using and then include them to Hubitat.
Let us know what devices you are using and you'll get help with the best drivers to use (mostly community drivers).

Hi Amithalp,

Thank you for your reply. You mentioned I have to exclude the switches first from the Fibaro hub then included them with the Hubitat. I am just wondering what that involved. You see, when I bought the Fibaro, the Fibaro agent installed the Fibaro Home Center Lite hub and all the switches into the wall for me. I couldn’t do it myself as it involved a certified electrician to hard wire in the Fibaro switches into the light switch cavities/sockets.

I have Amazon Echo and Google Nest and I can ask them to turn on or off my lights which the Fibaro controls. I think I had to pay extra for a Amazon bridge and a Google Nest bridge so that the two would talk to Fibaro. That’s why connecting the Echo and the Nest hub was easy. I was hoping the Hubitat would be easy too.

OMG…I think I’m in over my head :man_facepalming:t2:

Kind regards,
RamĂłn

Hi @user1085,
Excluding a Z-wave device and including it in a new hub does not require any electrical operations. It should be as simple as turning the Hubitat to exclusion mode, click the physical switch connected to the Fibaro device 3 times and exclusion is done. Include is done the same way but this time, put Hubitat in inclusion mode and click the switch 3 times. Assign the device with the proper driver, give it a name and you are basically sone.
What Fibaro devices are you using?
